– Edward Abbey (Journey Home) (via athymia) (via erickd) (via chelsealyn) One of my favorite things used to be to walk from Central Park (after a visit to FAO Schwartz toy store) all the way down to Chinatown, or Little Italy on a Saturday, then stop at Asti’s for dinner.  Out of work...

chaotique: I hate how society has laid out this “life plan” for everyone in which the slightest deviation is met with a series of condescending questions: “Oh, you’re not planing to such-and-such?” “Oh, well what about blah-blah-blah?” How are we expected to be happy when these “superior members of society” are jumping down our throats? I’m sick of it. It’s all so…cliche. I don’t want a life...

I need to get out of the house
It was minus 1 F. when I woke up this morning.  That’s BELOW ZERO!  And right before I woke up I was having the strangest dream.  I used to work at a television station and now and then they’d have celebrity guests on the noon news when they were in town.  So today I looked up and Ozzie Osbourne was there and doing a Tennessee mountain clog with one of the station people.  I...

supertruestory: Ohhhhmygod. I just helped my great grandpa take down all the christmas decorations and lights. Which means I crawled all over the roof and around the house. Which means I climbed through bird of paradise and rose bushes. AND because I didn’t know I was going to be doing all that, I left my house in a just a bra and hoodie. So, I’m sweaty, covered in thorns, bugs/spiders, leaves...

theanimalblog: tapwaterjackson: Andrew Sullivan for The Atlantic Daily Dish on Moscow’s Metro dogs. I can’t help but think here in the U.S. there would be a huge wail going on about taking them in, since they probably haven’t had shots and stories on TV and people coming forward to adopt them.  In the meantime, they’re appear perfectly happy living just the way they...

chaotique: My sister and best friend say I’m out of your league, but I’m sure they say it out of “obligation.” I never feel pretty enough/good enough/smart enough for you. It’s unbearable, knowing you’d never actually want me for who I am. Knowing that it would never work. Knowing that I wouldn’t even want you in the long run. You’re not what I’m looking for, you’re just a quick fix: something...

KFC
upandawaywego: Sounds like a good idea when you’re starving and ready to eat someone’s arm while you’re driving, but definitely a decision you will regret (and your stomach will remind you of that decision). Oooohhhh, I could tell you a story about that.  KFC at two in the morning when you’re on a road trip in a truck.  You’re absolutely right.

One of those places on a blog where a space is left where you can answer a question and YET ONCE AGAIN my finger hit a wrong key about halfway through what I had to say and it was posted and makes no sense and I look like a nincompoop. again. And you can’t erase it or take it back or even write another one explaining.  And it was a new follower, who’s sitting there thinking wtf?

I really hope so. I'm freaking out just thinking about it. I've never been on a boat that big and for that long.
There is absolutely no problem with bringing an appetite. This girl can pack it in!
Being on a ship that big is like being on a rock. They'll have medical staff on board to take care of any seasickness, or you can put a transderm patch behind your ear or try it in pill form. Both are prescriptions. That drug is also being taken by some cancer patients to lessen the nausea from radiation. Don't worry. Just don't get drunk with the crew.

Cruise
susanimate: My sister called to tell me that she bought me and another sister tickets to go on a cruise from April 16-24. We will go from Miami to Puerto Rico, and St. John and -blah, blah, blah. Isn’t that nice of her to tell me? I don’t know what I’ll do about childcare. The sisters conspired against me to try to get me to stop being a hermit. A tweetup is as fun and social as I like to...
